Hey there, you exquisite earthling, a warm welcome to the world of Holidays and HappilyEverAfters, our happy place in the blog-o-sphere! 😊 We are so delighted you decided to check us out in detail and without further ado let me try to fill you in on some background info about the “normal” everyday us and how our happy place could be yours too ❤️
[Now some of you may already know us from my previous blogging venture, I know you are smiling and I am tooo 😊 I am so grateful you decided to stick with me in my new home as well. *hugs* ]
Who Are We?
I am Meenakshi (pronounced mee-nak-shee) but if you find that tricky you can just call me Minaxi! I have a serious case of an insatiable wanderlust running through my blood, obsessed with all the beauty this planet beholds and constantly making plans (or dreaming) for our next trip 😀 An ardent adrenaline junkie, roller coasters and skydiving does not scare me. But spiders and cockroaches, stay away!! 😛 I am also obsessed with smileys as you may have already noticed and I am really trying to tone it down as much as I can 🙂 –ah not making much progress I guess.
I love anything and everything in PINK(which should be pretty evident by the above pic 😛 ) I am more of a quirky free-spirit and firmly believe that instead of living by the social mores dictated “shoulds and have-tos” you should follow YOUR heart’s desires to live your bliss. I am someone who loves road-tripping with the music up and windows down even if it means my pink mane will be a major mess! But I am also that someone who has a not-so-secret love-affair with her bed so you know what I am doing if I am not travelling or blogging or coloring my hair pink 😉 (errr I meant SLEEP for those of you with twisted minds 😛 )
I am a girl who loves to liven up every moment of her life and goes by the motto- Live Every Moment. Laugh Every Day. Love Without Limits. And that brings me to this amazing guy, exceptionally patient, who showers me with unconditional love – Vishnu, my dearest husband. ❤️
This guy is the “eye” of this blog, capturing all the wow-worthy photos you see in our social media accounts as well. And I am the “lips”, lending voice to them everywhere, so we like to think we complete each other 😉 (rather than focusing on my amateur photography skills and the fact that I am an incessant chatterbox 😛 )
Vishnu puts up with all the tantrums I throw at him, this poor guy, and I love him to bits. He is someone who always pushes me to be my very best and is that somebody who makes you even more of who you are. He is indeed quite a catch and how we met and fell in love and got hitched you can read it here (the wedding website which was designed by my very own boyfriend oops “hubby” himself! Did I tell you he is a completely tech savvy guy as well ? 😎)
It was Vishnu who introduced me to the travel bug in the first place. 🌎 ✈️ He took me to Maldives on our first trip together, which triggered the wanderlust in us to see and experience the unexplored vistas and exciting cultures this amazing world has in store. Soon after that we found ourselves roving through Europe and now we are in the U.S. And all this with the clichéd 9-5 jobs 🙂 We are not in the genre of “quit-the-job-travel-full-time” but I would be lying if I say the thought has not crossed our minds ever 😉 (Working remote and indulging in novel travel experiences ❤️ Sigggh, the dream people the dream. What? Earth Calling you say? Yes yes. I will be back to reality in a min 😛 )
Yes, so the “reality” is we are from India and currently leading the expat life in U.S. And being a travel-obsessed couple we are constantly exploring places near and far (moving to NYC did make this easier 😉 ), ticking off bucketlists and simply cannot get enough of the road-trips!
What is in this blog for You?
“Travel Tales, Tips and Hacks, and Pointers for Happily-Ever-Afters”
Before you jump to any conclusions (or roll your eyes!) let me get a few things cleared up. We are a “normal” couple still learning from all of our triumphs, scrapes, and falls in life but we do firmly believe in fairy tales and miracles and always make effort to keep our positive pants on 😉 So even if it is hard work we can vouch that “happily-ever-afters” are far from non-existent as everyone says. We feel it must not be restricted to just “couple-love” and should be more about making a conscious choice to work towards whatever “love” it is that keeps the smiles longer on your face every single day. 😊
And yes, you will surely get to read a lot of travel-related posts since we are avid travelers. But we are balancing our passion for traveling with the woes of adulting and budgeting, so while you would not be able to see us flitting off to exotic destinations every month, we do try to get our cure for wanderlust locally too and would surely let you in on all of the experiences, tips and tricks whether local or overseas 🌎 ✈️ 🚘
Rather than posting a bunch of photoshopped pretty photos captioned with witty one-liners, whatever purposeful and positive actions can come out of this blog, THAT is what we want to pursue. We would be surely over the moon if our blog inspired you to hit the road or helped to plan your next holidays, and at the least we hope, with this blog you find your day just a little bit brighter than it was. At the end of the day we just want to be genuine and able to relate with YOU, our readers and help you in whatever way we can, whether it is travel, adventure, love or positive thoughts. 😊
Still with me? Great 😀 *doing my happy dance* So chances are high that this blog will surely grow on you and we would absolutely love if you
joined partied with us in our happy place of Holidays & HappilyEverAfters. 😊
So let’s be Pals?
Yay! I’m In 😀
Also hey, thank you for stopping by Holidays & HappilyEverAfters. We sincerely appreciate it… and you ❤️
Much Love, ❤️
